Haleakala Private Tours
Haleakala & Upcountry or Iao Valley
Head up to the House of the Sun!
We are privileged to be one of the only two private tour companies allowed to take you into Haleakala National Park! On this tour, you head up above the clouds to 10,023ft for breathtaking views of the islands (literally-the air is thin up there!). After that, you can choose to spend the rest of the day in Maui's scenic countryside and visit local farms, or head to Maui's other volcano for a taste of the rainforest and to check out the famous Iao Needle.

Haleakala Hiking
Go take a hike in a volcano!
Thanks to our sister company Explore Maui Nature, we are one of the only two private tour companies with a permit to hike into the National Park. Bring your hiking shoes and hit the trails into Haleakala's spectacular "crater." This is a private tour, so you get to decide how much or how little you want to hike-no pressure!
Tour highlights:
- Haleakala National Park, views into the "crater"
- 10,023 summit Pu'u 'ula'ula, or Red Hill observation point
- Silversword endemic plants
- Sliding Sands, or Keonehe'ehe'e trail
- Halemau'u trail
- Picnic lunch

Notes
Appropriate clothing and footwear is required. Synthetic layered shirts and pants (no blue jeans, no cotton), cold weather sweater & rain jacket, and sturdy closed-toe walking shoes (no sandals, sneakers are acceptable). If you need a rain jacket or backpack, let us know!
This tour requires intermediate fitness levels: while we can adjust the duration of the hike, you must be able to hike unassisted on rough terrain, at high elevation and in unpredictable weather.
Private Birding Tour
Discover Maui's Unique Birdlife
This tour is for all the birders, bird lovers and other wildlife enthusiasts who want to discover Maui's unique species and hopefully add a few to their "life list." We will look for the endemic honeycreepers inside Haleakala National Park, then head to the wetlands in search of shore birds, and end the tour with a golf course for a few more migrants and alien species not commonly found on the mainland.
Tour highlights:
- Haleakala National Park
- 10,023 summit Pu'u 'ula'ula, or Red Hill observation point
- Silversword endemic plants
- Possible sightings of Nene, Pueo, Chukar

- Kamehameha Golf Course
Notes
You are welcome to use our binoculars, hiking poles, & rain ponchos.
Bring layered and warm clothing as the weather at elevation can be 20 to 40 cooler than at sea level and is highly unpredictable.
Comfortable walking shoes and a rain jacket are also recommended.
